So, what makes SixthDay Film ethical?

Life is good. Very good.

This is one of our core beliefs.

Life itself is good and deserves celebrating.

The world is good and needs stewarding.

The film, TV and media industry has been incredibly wasteful. Sets, props, catering can all amount to a huge amount of rubbish, with little of it being recycled. Even with best efforts, film production is nearly impossible to do without producing carbon. Our cameras, lights and computers all use energy. Most projects require domestic or international travel, producing huge amounts of carbon emissions. A single project can cause an incredibly harmful impact on our planet.

SixthDay Film productions are different.

  • Resources (such as sets, cable ties) are repurposed and reused

  • Single use plastics (such as water bottles) are avoided when possible

  • Electricity consumers (such as lighting) are powered down when not needed

  • Our energy suppliers are renewable

  • Our carbon footprint (including travel) is completely offset by planting trees

  • SixthDay Film is a carbon positive company

We have partnered with Ecologi

Even with our best efforts, we still leave a carbon footprint. In 2021, we partnered with Ecologi to offset our total energy usage and SixthDay Film has become a carbon positive company. We’re really excited about this, and encourage you or your company to find out how you can have a positive impact on our wonderful planet.

Our clients

Capitalism can cause much damage, so we love to work with clients that are doing social good. That’s why we are so happy to offer a 50% rate to charities and non-profit organisations. We’ve been able to showcase and celebrate many different initiatives, from free meals for the homeless in the UK to supporting schools in Africa.

People

When we say life is good, that means people too. We want to champion young people looking to start out in film production. We want to encourage more women into a male-dominated industry. We want to speak well of people in front of them and behind their backs. We want to operate in fair-trade so that those people far away who contribute to our successes are not treated as lesser.

The world is far from perfect, but it is good and needs stewarding. People don’t always act as they should, but they are good and deserves encouraging. Life can often be hard, but it is very good and we will celebrate it.
